Located on a historic 55-acre estate, Cheekwood is Nashville’s premier destination for horticulture, and their annual spring festival is a massive draw. For 2026, the event takes on the theme “Red, White & Blooms” to honor America’s 250th anniversary. The grounds are transformed into a spectacular sea of over 250,000 blooms, featuring red and white tulips seamlessly blended with purple-blue violas, hyacinths, and bright yellow daffodils.
Beyond the breathtaking floral displays, Cheekwood activates the entire estate on weekends. Visitors can enjoy live music in the outdoor beer garden, grab lunch from a rotating selection of local food trucks, and participate in special workshops ranging from container design to botanical watercolor painting. Because the pathways are paved and highly accessible, it is one of the most relaxing, family-friendly environments in the city during the spring.

Hosted by the Blue Balloon Songwriting School—an institution that has been empowering young creators for over 15 years—this daytime event puts the spotlight on children and teenagers. Taking place at Analog, an intimate and highly respected listening room inside the Hutton Hotel, the showcase provides these young artists with the exhilarating experience of playing their original music plugged-in on a professional stage.
The atmosphere is incredibly supportive and joyous, drawing a crowd of proud parents, local music teachers, and community members. Seeing a six-year-old bravely debut an original song on a real Nashville stage is a heartwarming contrast to the typical late-night bar gigs in the city. Parking is a breeze, with a flat $10 rate in the hotel’s on-site garage specifically for Analog ticket holders.
Best for: Families with musically inclined kids, educators, and anyone looking for an uplifting, family-centric musical event that supports the next generation of songwriters.

Located roughly 45 minutes south of Nashville in rural Eagleville, Lucky Ladd Farms hosts the largest pick-your-own tulip experience in the Southeastern United States. The farm meticulously cultivates over 700,000 bulbs featuring more than 100 varieties of tulips, creating a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of color across the rolling Tennessee countryside. Visitors are provided with baskets to hand-select and build their own custom bouquets to take home.
Timing is everything with this festival. Because tulips are highly sensitive to warm weather, the blooming season is incredibly short—often lasting only 3 to 4 weeks. Tickets grant you access to the tulip fields as well as the rest of Lucky Ladd’s attractions, which include a sprawling petting zoo and fun park, making it an easy all-day excursion. Be prepared to walk on uneven dirt terrain, so leave the nice shoes at home and opt for boots or sturdy sneakers.
Best for: Couples, families with energetic kids, and anyone looking for “Instagram-worthy” photography backdrops and a hands-on farm experience.
